De jonge Jim Hawkins (Toby Regbo) is de enige die met een zeilschip een legendarisch eiland, dat bekend staat om zijn verborgen schatten, kan bereiken. Maar aan boord van het schip bevindt zich ook de mysterieuze kok John Silver (Eddie Izzard), wiens ware motivatie voor de reis er voor zorgt dat Jim twijfels krijgt tegenover de gehele bemanning.
