Ohana wordt weggestuurd om bij haar grootmoeder te gaan wonen, die eigenaar is van de warmwaterbronherberg. Bij aankomst wordt ze aan het werk gezet in de herberg. Ze komt terecht in een leven waarin de klanten altijd op de eerste plaats komen en heeft moeite om haar plek te vinden en zich aan te passen aan haar collega's.
