De vriendelijke Takada is net zo dom als goedbedoelend, maar op de een of andere manier bezit hij het magische vermogen om 'Magere Hein' Nishimura uit haar schulp te trekken. Terwijl de basisschoolleerlingen al het plezier van een kinderzomer samen beleven – van naar het zwembad gaan, zonnebloemen plukken tot vuurwerk kijken – bloeit er een bijzondere vriendschap op!
